MACLEAN PROJECT READINESS™

A structured view of what is ready. And what needs work.

Our project-readiness method organises the evidence behind a project’s next decision. It connects an assessment to a practical preparation plan.

Eleven dimensions

Assess the whole project.
See the critical gaps.

Weights reflect the importance of an investable, lawful and implementable project. The assessment standard changes with the project stage.

Concept, feasibility, investment, procurement and mobilisation require different evidence.

Version 1.0 · Weights total 100%. Method design, not an assessment of a real project.

Evidence before colour

A score should inform judgement.

01 · Evidence-based scoring

Forty-four criteria are scored from 0 to 5 and limited by the strength of their supporting evidence. Domain results combine into a score out of 100.

02 · Critical decision gates

Mandate, safety and legality, land and consents, affordability and funding route, procurement, and delivery accountability are checked separately. Unresolved gates cannot be hidden by an average.

03 · An actionable outcome

The assessment records evidence coverage, critical blockers and a prioritised action register with owners, due dates and the decision each action supports.

Red

Below 50, or a critical gate is failed or unresolved.

Amber

50–74, or a higher score that has not met the evidence and minimum-domain conditions for green.

Green

75 or more, all gates passed, at least 80% evidence coverage, and at least 60 in each critical domain.

Readiness is specific to the decision

Financial, technical, procurement and governance readiness are the critical domains. An unstarted assessment is labelled “Not assessed”. Missing evidence in an assessment reduces its score and is shown as a gap. This method is a management framework under development; it does not certify bankability, regulatory compliance or lender acceptance.
